What is the impact of Apple expanding to other carriers?
The WSJ just published the following article speculating about the mass production of the iPhone and the development of a version which is compatible to the wireless standard(CDMA) used by Verizon. Which impact does this move on the mobile OS battle? Will this help Apple to regain against Android?

Had the iPhone been released to other carriers before the recent wave of Android smartphones, I think Apple would have cemented itself as the number 1 smartphone provider for the foreseeable future. However, as other posts have mentioned, Android is picking users up at a ferocious clip, spreading like a virus through all the major carriers besides AT&T. While the iPhone seemed so much better than the other smartphone competition a few years ago, its somewhat run-of-the-mill now (at least in my opinion). Google is hear to stay and will not shy away from a Battle Royale with Steve Jobs.
