Barnes and Noble has just released an application
PubIt that allows users to upload their own digital books and artwork. The books then get converted into ePub format for use with most eReaders and Barnes and Noble takes care of selling your book.
This is essentially the equivalent of
TuneCore for the music/mp3 industry. This service allows musicians to upload their music on iTunes, Amazon.com and other mp3 retailers.
This is a pretty interesting development. I'll be curious to see if anything that gets uploaded to Pubit actually takes off (in terms of downloads/purchases).
