Getting people to dance with Kinect

With PAX just ending a couple weeks ago, there have been lots of opinions about Microsoft's new development for the Xbox 360: Kinect. Kinect will allow for hands-free gaming, and thus compete with motion control games from Nintendo's Wii. While it's set to launch November 4th, people have already been testing it out at PAX and E3. So far, the reviews are mixed, but either way, this is Microsoft's step towards targeting a different kind of gamer that the Xbox 360 is not historically known for.

Since the Kinect is based on motion sensors, games like Dance Central makes sense. Combining pop music with the this type of game makes the experience more relevant to users, leading to the likelihood of sequels (similar games like Karaoke Revolution and Rock Band have all released multiple games). Dance games are generally difficult to execute, but Kinect's technology may be the answer to where other attempts, like Sony's Eyetoy, have fallen short.
